KERYFLEX is a medical grade cosmetic nail. It is a painless, in-clinic application that restores the appearance of natural nails with a cosmetic treatment. It is immediate and the result is natural looking nails. Keryflex delivers an immediate and significant cosmetic improvement.

Keryflex is not intended as a medical treatment and will not cure your underlying nail issues or nail fungus. It is an aesthetic, cosmetic  procedure designed to improve the appearance of the nail only.

The podiatrist will remodel damaged nails affected by fungus, defects, and trauma. The nail is trimmed and filed as much as possible. Keryflex does not attached to skin so a minimum of 15% of the natural nail is necessary for the cosmetic nail attach itself.  Keryflex can be useful to improve the look of nail fungus, damaged nails, brittle and splitting nails, nail ridges and discoloured nails. The damaged nail is prepared with sterile instruments in a clean and clinical setting.

Once the nail is prepared, a bonding agent is applied. This is followed by an application of the KERYFLEX resin and hardened with an ultraviolet  light. The cosmetic nail is shaped and made smooth. A top coat of sealant is applied and cured with an UV lamp.

This cosmetic resin nail is unaffected by acetone, nail polish or detergents. The composite resin creates a flexible, but durable non-porous that allows the remaining natural nail to grow underneath. The cosmetic nail looks and feels natural. Unlike rigid, acrylic nails Keryflex is flexible and allows nails to bend in a  natural way which can protect he nail bed. It is also non-porous and will not allow moisture to penetrate between the cosmetic nail and the natural nail.

Stephanie Carter an Expert Podiatrist at Melbourne Foot Clinic

Nail polish can be applied over the Keryflex nail.

Your podiatrist can also continue to treat your fungal nail infection and the cosmetic nail will allow your real nail to grow through.

The time between Keryflex application will vary between patients. We see an increase in Keryflex appointments over summer. Usually, a reapplication is needed every 6 to 8 weeks. The podiatrist will use an electric drill to file and buff the cosmetic nail until it is no longer attached to the natural nail. A Keryflex nail should not be clipped or cut.

Matthew Dilnot, Madeleine Murray, and Stephanie Carter are skilled and trained in using KERYFLEX. Discuss the best option for you with them.

*Keryflex is not intended as a medical treatment and will not cure your underlying nail issues.

Please advise your Podiatrist before you start this treatment if you have peripheral vascular disease, diabetes, arterial insufficiency, toe lesions or ingrown toenails. This treatment should also be avoided if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or known to be sensitive or allergic to any of the Keryflex ingredients.
