3D RunLab is the next generation of evidence-based, gait analysis which is integrated with scientific data. It gives us the ability to assess injury and performance during a consultation. The 3D Run Lab provides an accurate insight into entire body movement patterns, which can be incorporated into treatment and training regimes. It is also one of the tools we can use to establish if a previous orthotic or shoe is appropriate. Anyone considering orthotic therapy and is unsure should consider this assessment to assist in making the correct choice.
A 3D RunLab session will assist you to:
- Understand biomechanical your risk factors.
- Minimise injury.
- Demonstrate effectiveness of orthotic therapy.
- Track progress of training and rehabilitation.
- Check and compare footwear.
Until now accurate 3D motion analysis has only been available to elite athletes and funded study projects but is now available to everyone. New depth perception cameras and software development provide insight into each motion of your unique running cycle.
Running injuries are complex. They are caused by a variety of underlying problems specific to your body, training history and your footwear. A proper 3D running analysis is used to identify any underlying biomechanical problems which impact when you are running.
Our podiatrists use this gait analysis technology along with your injury history, training regime and footwear to determine an appropriate plan with you for foot injury management and improved performance. 3D Run Lab practitioners, Madeleine Murray, Kyle Dalmau, Matt Dilnot, and Rohan Coull are all podiatrists who have solid reputations in biomechanics, gait analysis, and foot and lower limb conditions.
This system uses marker-less technology to assess your running style including parameters such as foot strike, joint loading, stride type, knee flexion, hip rotation, joint loading and gait characteristics, The total advantage of marker-less technology is less time spent setting up and much more time focusing on analysis of results with you.
