What does Sports Podiatry focus on?

Sports Podiatry focuses on treating foot and lower limb conditions that stem from exercise and activity. We specialise in the relationship between activity, biomechanics, and foot function. The goal is to work with you to improve performance while reducing pain and preventing injury.

When should you see a Sports Podiatrist?

We see a range of patients with biomechanical problems from toddlers with unusual gait pattern to those patients in their 80’s and 90’s wanting to maintain their independence.

However, most of our sports patients range from teenagers through to the middle years of life. Many are playing school sports, are weekend warriors in their chosen sport or are elite athletes. More than half of our patients are referred to us by doctors, coaches, or physiotherapists.

Many of the conditions we treat are not just foot related but include calf injuries, achilles tendonitis, shin, knee, and hip pain.
