Biomechanics and Gait Laboratory
At the Melbourne Foot Clinic, we utilise a specialised gait analysis room to assist with the diagnosis of musculoskeletal and mechanical foot and lower leg injuries.
We have a two camera set-up, with the first looking specifically at foot function. The second camera is used to observe both the function of the hip, knee and upper leg through the different phases of the gait cycle. The digital technology allows us to analyse gait frame-by-frame and the modern treadmill allows different speeds from walking to fast running. It also offers a platform to observe jumping and other dynamic movements.
